Tokyo Police Club - Cheer It On

Cheer It On by Tokyo Police Club

TOKYO POLICE CLUB return with yet another 7" single. 'Cheer it on' is a short but sweet up tempo indie stomper that makes me instantly visualize a crowd bouncing up and down and singing along. Very reminiscent of the early Strokes stuff with it's raw energy. 'Citizens Of Tomorrow (Space Ballad Version)' is a... ahem... ballad complete with piano. Brian reckons it sounds like Grandaddy. There is a lyric that talks about computers taking over the world. He's dead right man. The Tesco over the road has just got those self service checkouts where you can scan the barcodes yourself. It means they don't have to pay people to do it. I have immense fun doing it though and I never have to cue anymore because the public are scared of it. It gives them the fear. Back to the record then... I reckon it's gonna be popular with you guys as was the previous single. 7" only on Memphis Industries.

Clocking in at under two minutes, ‘Cheer It On’ is a thrilling mix of melody and an  all out attack, making it a stand-out track from the forthcoming debut mini-album.   ‘Cheer It On’ is the second 7” from Tokyo Police Club and follows the well received ‘Nature Of The Experiment’.  This 7” includes exclusive B side ‘Citizens Of Tomorrow’ (Space Ballad Version).
