The Fall - Reformation Post TLC

Reformation Post TLC by The Fall

4...according to our on Fri 09 Feb, 2007.

The new album from THE FALL has arrived. After sacking his band again there's a new line up. It was he shame he got rid of that line up. They sounded fierce on the 'Heads Roll' LP. I was reading the other week that John Peel passed out after he heard a track for the first time during a peel session and had to be resuscitated by John Walters. Can you imagine being so passionate about a band? Amazing. Anyway 'Reformation Post TLC' I'm afraid to say doesn't quite hit the great heights of the last album it seems to plod along aimlessly at times and seems to lack the razor sharp humour and sarcasm we all love about Smith. As Peel once said 'Always the same, always different'. It could be a grower though. CD only on Slogan at the moment with vinyl to follow in a month or so...

The Fall are widely regarded as one of the best punk and post punk bands of all time. In a career spanning nearly 30 years, Mark E Smith and his ever-evolving band of likeminded individuals have created some of the most interesting, cutting edge and influential guitar records. This album goes to show that The Fall  still have all the necessary ingredients to stay relevant and consistent in today’s fickle musical climate. This brand new studio album sees The Fall at their best, with  Smith sneering over the top of a pummelling rhythm section and garage rock guitars.
