From Gothenburg, Sweden comes the latest Scandinavian pop phenomenon Hearts of Black Science. Melancholic and dark pop melodies, yet also uplifting and positive, not afraid to be inspired by a broad range of styles, gothic and metal, shoegaze and eighties pop. In 2006 the band released an two EPs that sold out in just 2 months, and got over 100,000 hits on MySpace. 'The Ghost You Left Behind' is the glorious culmination of those months of isolation - this collection of songs is all that's great about Scandinavian pop, sounding completely fresh.
References: mixing up a bit of Doves, some Ladytron, a smattering of Mew and maybe M83 would be a good start, but there's a darker side as well,
Depeche Mode covered by Air, or The Killers covered by Ulrich Schnauss.
