After exhausting the London circuit throughout 2006 Cable Street Spy Club set out with label boss and co-producer Jim Bob (Carter USM) to record their debut single at One Life Studios, Crystal Palace late last year. The fruits of their labour is their double-A sided single, collectively titled 'Listen To Me Carefully I Shall Say This Only Once'. The boys give their salute to those in the espionage game with 'Spies, Spies Everywhere', a portentous warning that careless talk costs lives and of the perils of six degrees of separation. Second A-Side 'Tenderly Talking' is a reminder to all who've ever loved to treasure those precious moments, from the most passionate embrace to having a little dance whilst doing the washing up.
...according to Susie Reynolds.
Superb debut single. Very impressive, the second track 'Tenderly Talking' is probably the strongest, a bit disco, a bit rock, but always soulful. Have heard people say they're a bit like Bloc Party, but while they have some slight similarities, they're a lot more joyous than that.
