Ciaran Byrne - Galtrim

Galtrim by Ciaran Byrne

4...according to our on Fri 05 Jan, 2007.

After that, it'll be hard to give Boards of Canada acolytes GALTRIM a glowing write up. This being primarily because they add nothing new to the sonic stew. In fact, they've just copied the recipe straight outta the "Scottish Hippies Guide to heart-bursting hazy chill out". Gotta hand it to them though. They are wonderful cooks, even though it's all stolen. 'Ciaran Byrne' is perfect for those hankering for Music Has the Right...pt 3 or whatever. I'd also truly recommend this to anyone who wanted to stab BOC up after the 'Campfire Fizzleth Out' or whatever the last slice of bland dross was called. Then Track 4 suddenly bursts out with this mangled robotic electro swagger, really playful & frazzled like a child that's escaped from it's bedroom in the middle of the night to go wandering in some spectral moonlit wood. Yes, this album may be occasionally carbon copy but definitely has many of it's individual glory moments! Also for fans of Arovane (we've been told...) CD only on Psychonavigation
