Eric Gaffney
Uncharted Waters

This record left our ant feeling happy.
I saw Sebadoh play back in 1994 and they were pretty cool. Lou Barlow totally freaked out, much to my amusement. I'm reliably informed that ERIC GAFFNEY used to be in them. I'd never had known only I have his 'Uncharted Waters' CD playing at the moment. It consists of an astonishing 27 tracks. Most of which completely passed me by. That's not to say they're not interesting, however there are the odd few that made my ears prick up with one in particular reminding me of Lou Reed /Velvet Underground. Okay I can't remember what it's called and I can't be arsed skipping through all the tracks. It's a lot more mature sounding than the raw youthful energy of Sebodoh. That's what happens as time passes by you see. We get older and shrivel up and lose our energy. Unless of course you happen to be Iggy pop who just shriveled up but has more energy than my 2 year old son. He was running around the stage like a man possessed at The Stooges show at ATP .Anyway there are some intelligent well constructed songs on here recorded between 1998 and 2005. Gaffney aint half bad on the old guitar either. On Handmade Records.
