A big but long-forgotten Chicago club hit from the pre-house era of 1984, just at the time when electronic dance music was making headway beyond the novelty stage, before Techno as we now know it was born, when club music was just called Disco. ‘Single Girl’ was a big hit in Chicago clubs like Music Box and was played by Ron Hardy and all the Hotmix 5 guys like Farley and Mickey Oliver, and its still a big collectors item. Made with the first electronic instruments and without any pretentions... just made for the fun of making music. ‘D-Rail’ is one of the very first steps into jacking house music, equally obscure but one that should not be forgotten.
