What we say

Rating: unmoved This record left our Maggie feeling unmoved.

Now an electro pop single from DANDI WIND with their 7" Apotemnophilia and Adolecent. Sounding like it's busting out the 80's the disco beat and wild screeching Sythns. Hey ...its got some wonderful dueling sythn solos going on!!!....now its got Bon Jovi guitar tapping (the fast fingering). The only lyrics being "He said". Spin the side over...... it keeps the electro feel but is more brooding with some tortured and stuttering vocals. I particularly like the vocals in this. They are furious but almost whispered which adds to the sinister nature of the song which sounds like the soundtrack to your own virginal bumming.

What the label says:

If ‘Digital Penetration’ was the genre defining compilation of the current scene, Klaxons are the genre defining band and Dandi Wind is the genre defining performer - the female star. Dandi Wind have completed four UK tours and have built a solid and expanding fanbase on the basis of their music, videos and performance. The current fashion for this style of music is a bonus to our campaign, but Dandi Wind have none of the novelty of many of the ‘New Rave’ acts, they have far more music integrity, wider appeal and potential for longevity. Music influences go back to Fad Gadget / Depeche Mode, and performance influences range from Kate Bush to Iggy Pop, which widens her appeal to more mature music lovers, while the group’s fun image and wild on-stage costumes attract the younger fashion and music fans. Dandi Wind headlined the recent sold out Digital Penetration Tour, and her image was used on all the nationwide promotional material for the tour, including two half page NME ads and a Vice magazine ad. Limited to 500 copies.

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
