AT SWIM TWO BIRDS: "Returning to the scene of the Crime" on Green UFOs. Opens with a track called "In bed with your best friend", and as you can imagine it's full of introspective (that word again) world weary songs of love, longing, loss, booze and medication- maybe not in that combination. Delayed from mid-February due to Spanish manufacturing issues. It's now available for your listening pleasure, so if you're in a melancholic stupor and need confirmation that you're not the only one to feel that way, this collection of tunes should soothe you-its positively mellow. Stripped down, mainly guitar and voice compositions re-interpreted from previous releases.

'Returning To The Scene Of The Crime' is the new album by AT SWIM TWO BIRDS, the solo project of Roger Quigley - singer of the acclaimed duo from Manchester The Montgolfier Brothers. AT SWIM TWO BIRDS shocks with the very stillness of the music: undulating guitar lines with a hint of the sound of pubs and fairgrounds, mood-changing music full of deep beauty. And although there is a certain similarity to the sound created by The Durutti Column and Tindersticks, for AT SWIM TWO BIRDS it is the lyrics which play the key role, Quigley's words touch the heart because they are about those trifles that make sense of our lives.
