What we say

Rating: sad This record left our Brain damagedmouse feeling sad.

I'm really horrifically sorry about this but can anyone actually explain to these ragged, tired ears o'mine what the fuck is the point of THE VIEW? They absolutely suck the biggest logs like the worst third rate pub toss EVER. I can hear several long forgotten plodding loser bands on 'Same Jeans' (boring title yet again) but because of their rubbishness, can't recall the names of any single one. That lazy, slurring Libertines style vocal is present, especially on woeful b-side 'Cherry Girl'. The only good thing about this band is that the tunes have some kinda shambling rough edged "charm". Then again, you really can never polish a turd so just as well. Listen to this & follow it with, maybe, These New Puritans & you'll realise that i'm so right. Why so popular? The game'll be up after the debut. Nothing memorable, nothing exciting, not even nice to look at, The View (out of the window, into the building site) are my nemesis this year. Grrrr. CD/7" limited job

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
