Ed Vallance - Deep End

Deep End by Ed Vallance

Now here is ED VALLANCE trading his wares with the release of his debut single Deep End. A polished release in the singer songwriter mould from the dashing young fellow. We all prefer the B-side which is more edgy and nods its cap to Bowie. Out on 7" on proof records

On 4th December, Londons Ed Vallance releases his debut single, Deep End. A lyricist and songwriter of great ability, Ed has already been touted by Gary Crowley and Robert Elms of BBC London Live as a rising star. Those fortunate enough to have seen Ed play around the capital will be well aware that this is not faint praise. Possessed of a singularly arresting voice, Ed has drawn comparisons to artists as diverse as Japanese eclecticist Cornelius, Talk Talk and Serge Gainsbourg. His music is pop in its widest form but draws on a vision of popular music more in tune with 70s artist such as Roxy Music, Bowie and Patti Smith than the current incarnation. He also shares with such names a belief in himself as an artist, taking the opportunity to move to Los Angeles in 2005 following the offer of a six month residency at the legendary Viper Rooms; a decision that saw KCRW amongst others join his growing band of admirers and supporters.
