The Timid Mischief, or Oh! Anomia by Al Duvall

Speaking of greats, one of our all time top Norm faves is AL DUVALL and we got a fantastic album in this week from Australia courtesy of those nice Dual Plover folks (as well as a tasty selection of some of their wares). 'The Timid Mischief, Or Oh! Amonia' is Al's finest work to date! Certainly up there with the incredible 'Butlers Revenge' CD (which you need if you've not got it yet). From the off 'Bury Me In Shellac' is a blinding tune which sets the album off just perfectly ( I don't think he means Albini and co either….) For those who've never heard him then I guess the easiest and laziest comparison is George Formby but there's so much more to him. Man and ukulele singing about the golden old times with a real sense of humour. Kazoo's as well… fricking kazoo's! So many good records this week!

new album by old time banjo maestro Al Duvall, touring nationally in november with our own singing sadie.
