White Enemy - The B-Boy Lullaby / White Enemy

The B-Boy Lullaby / White Enemy by White Enemy

3...according to our on Fri 26 Jan, 2007.

First up is the new WHITE ENEMY 12”  'Nas Vs The Cure.. The B-boy Lullaby'which sees The Cure mashed up with Nas. I'm familiar with both the tracks but the titles escape me. (Cure's 'Lullaby' i assume x Brian) I can't decide whether this is inspired by Hollertronix #2 or just a blatant rip off. It's not bad though for a mash up as the original source material is strong. It actually works and is reasonably atmospheric with those classic Cure strings. It would have been more interesting to get Robert Smith's vocals over some Nas beats. The flip has The White Stripes and Public Enemy track, which is okay for about 30 seconds.

The White Enemy is back, expertly blending a loop from The Cure’s huge late 80s hit ‘Lullaby’ expertly with Nas' ‘Made You Look’ acapella featuring Jadakiss & Ludacris on additional vocal duties. Supreme hip hop beats slice their way through the original guitars, drums & strings as the track builds to a crescendo, creating yet another high quality mash-up with razor-sharp production...you wouldn’t expect anything less from this man at the controls. On the flip, in response to overwhelming public demand, we have the original White Enemy clash-up of ‘Seven Nation Army’ & ‘Bring The Noise’, finally gracing a 12-inch platter... limited, so get them while they're hot.
