Groovy stuff from MILANESE now. The Grime fuelled Warp wunderkid normally gives us wild digital nervous breakdown heavy shit. Sorta angry shredded gear. However he's returned to that itchy rolling garage sound he showcased on 'Vanilla Monkey' on 'Peggy Flynn Rmx'. This is one of those tunes you'll walk into a club hearing & just chuck yer coat in the corner & start frugging. It's a bouncy, airy whore of a tune with an irresistably catchy break & tons going on underneath. Blatantly a progressive dance classic to appeal to home braindancers & sweaty clubbers alike. The flip 'So Malleable Cold Rmx' is echo laden tech-grime with a stunning show of power. Lots of tension & digital slashings being phased all over the shop with his now trademark disembodied vocal samples being blasted through an icy alien vortex. Honestly, you can see why Warp were so interested in him but this 12" is on the relatively obscure MG77. It's, for me, his best work, designed purely to trash underground parties like only the best techno/breaks stuff can. Superb.
