‘past is prologue’ is the new, fully remastered version of tycho’s debut full length ‘sunrise projector’, which was released independently on the artist’s own gammaphone label in 2004, limited as a mail-order only item and quickly sold out through two pressings. this sampler ep from the new merck version is the first time any of tycho’s music will have appeared on vinyl, and includes remixes by nautilis and dusty brown. musically this release lies somewhere between label-mates helios and machine drum, with a touch of malcom kipe… hip hop infused beats, hypnotic melodies and dynamic syncopated textures blend to create a dense, atmospheric listening experience. limited to 600 copies worldwide, with a random number on colored vinyl.
