Black Strobe - Shining Bright Star

Shining Bright Star by Black Strobe

Black Strobe AKA Parisians Ivan Smagghe and Arnaud Rebotini have been in demand for many years from artists who feel their music could benefit from some twisted tweaking. Sometimes the process has been symbiotic with Black Strobe offered the opportunity to work with bands that influenced them in their formative years like Depeche Mode, Dominatrix and Nitzer Ebb. Sometimes it leads to a connection like the one that has been made with Paul Epworth; Black Strobe have remixed two artists he has produced (Bloc Party, White Rose Movement) and, in turn, Epworth has remixed their current single Shining Bright Star and is in place to man the controls for their debut album (due Spring 2007).Phones is an alter ego of Paul Epworths and with his remix of Shining Bright Star, hes turned in a timeless yet deviant 80s brute. Being released as a one-sided limited edition 12 single (with etching on the other side), its a nifty precursor for their compilation album, A Remix Selection, that follows shortly after.
