I bloody love it when bands/labels go to town on packaging. This 7" comes in a mailer with travel stickers all over it & even a string handle to carry the thing like you just stepped off the plane. I especially love it when bands are good enough to write fresh, catchy melodic indie music with no bloody fashion trappings. THE WOMBATS seem to have perfected the art of combining an itchy tune with both knowing bite & considerable radio potential. I didn't dig the last couple of things on KIDS records but 'Moving to New York' has it all. Crowd delighting riffs, vocal harmonies from the stars & an "indie disco dancefloor classic" stamped all over it's cheeky face. Perfect guitar pop with heart.
