Well, I know what I'll be doing on Christmas Day. I'll be sat in my favourite chair with a nip of something to keep the chill out, and the immense feeling of anti-climax will be lifted by these 5 CDs on rotation in the old changer. Okay, so Suffy bangs out albums at an alarming rate, and they all feel as though there are a few fillers in there, but when you stick 30 tracks (average) on a release, that's always going to be the case. Thing is, within those tracks are a number of gems that more than warrant the price of admission. Yes, he's a bit fey, but hey, if there's a more talented musician in the business right now, I've not found him or her, and whilst your average guitar bands chug from tired Britpop to a New NWOBHM, I'm forced to look elsewhere. Just f***ing buy it and have a Merry Christmas.

Speaking of box sets and cash ins our old SUFJAN STEVENS has been well busy as we have a 5 CD box set in this week. Apparently the old sentimental knob releases a Christmas EP each year and Rough Trade/ Asthmatic Kitty have collected them together for a limited box set release type thing (in time for xmas). Loads of carols and xmas songs and Sufjan'd up with many instruments everywhere. It's all very clever and if I had to listen to Christmas songs I'd listen to this. Especially as the wife plagued me to play some the other day and all I had was the Low Christmas EP!
