Garden Leave by Spare Snare

SPARE SNARE are one of those underrated stalwart Scottish acts who i'm curious to learn were a major influence on Snow Patrol, the thinking mans Keane. Well if you ain't heard their sweet, shambling folk-flecked heartbreak anthems then you totally need some in yr life. This 4 piece make organic, off kilter sad-pop with a skewed lo-fi feel that really touches your heart & soul. They have this new full length CD 'Garden Leave' (their seventh!!!) & it just drips with delicious melancholy, charming experimentation, beautifully picked ukelele/possessed acoustic guitar, intermittent wonky drum machines & subtle samples/electronics not to mention Jan Burnett's achingly beautiful, lilting voice. Pure as fuck. If you invest in one album this week (apart from Third Eye Foundation hahaha!) make it this. It's in a textured, embossed discfolio package, made in Arizona with a bit of love. Get this.
