Starless & Bible Black - S/T

S/T by Starless & Bible Black

I'm currently listening to (and thoroughly enjoying) the debut STARLESS & BIBLE BLACK CD on Locust Music. Locust tend to do some pretty out there stuff, but this album by said bunch (from Manchester we think) is a more accessible pretty folky thing. The 1st track starts it off badly for me as it's like a hoary old 70's band going acoustic. However it's worth persevering with this cos it turns out to be a great folk album. It's like a more acoustic Espers without some of the psychedelia. There really are some great songs on this 'un and I can't recommend this enough. If you're into wispy sounding British folk then you'll love this.

As good a new folk album as you'll find right now - up there with Espers, Nadler etc.
