Rating: ecstatic This record left Ben Keeler feeling ecstatic.

I agree with everything good said about this record. It is the most thought through record I have ever heard, and probably the best album of 2006. Everyone should own a copy, especially since now it's out on 4AD with the Lon Gisland EP (I needed it so much after hearing a few tracks that I ordered it straight from Ba Da Bing!). It can't be described easily in words, so I'll just TELL you to listen to it (or buy it purely from mine and other peoples recommendation) and make your own mind up - I am DEFINITE you will agree how amazingly perfect it is. For fans of A Hawk And A Hacksaw, Neutral Milk Hotel and charming Eastern European/Balkan beats.

What we say

Rating: ecstatic This record left our Phil feeling ecstatic.

Lordy it's good! Imagine Black Ox Orkestar crossed with Radiohead with a dash of Leonard Cohen and some Eastern European Carnival music. It's fantastic. I can't get the words across about how great all of us think this is. There's not many occasions when we all love something but this is one of those rare things I've just been implying doesn't happen very much. Incredibly the guy who makes this music is only 19. I was shocked..... so accomplished and intelligent sounding for a 19 year old. When I was 19 I still had to get help with toilet things...... Anyway this isn't gonna be everyone's bag but if the above sound interesting check it out cos it's well bum. Before David Byrne gets his hands on him anyway....

About the humble CD:

The CD is essentially a small portable face mirror which has an extra feature of being able to play music (through a thing known as a CD player). These CD's are a modern invention hence them being all shiny and digital. They can hold about 80 minutes of music and apparently are indestructible as you can smear jam on them and they still play (not as nourishing as toast mind you but when you're hungry.....). They sound crystal clear and are tiny convenient things. They lack the charm and warmth of their old analogue counterparts but their portability, convenience and ease of being duplicated make them a perfect thing of a thing for most folks. Jewel cases are the worst thing ever though and they really need to stop.
