This was my original gormless review when I had a headache one day years ago and I thereby gave it two stars.
"Riot Season records unleash a mad as lorries horrible noisy spazzy mess of a record by Sightings called 'Absolutes' that makes Black Dice sound like The Cardigans or Whitehouse sound like Tarwater. Fuck me this would piss off deaf people for gods sake!"
I've since upped it to 5 stars but the sentiment remains the same. As of 2013 I have taken home a copy as I now realise these three visionary guys make the most stunning visceral, splintered avant-rock yet somehow manage to retain a unique sound in a cluttered world full of headache inducing sonic terrorists. I saw them live in Manchester the other day and felt utterly treated......so there, I urge give these men your time.
