JAMIE T is a right ole cheeky scamp. the cover of his new single has him with his family on the cover. Nice idea and more importantly a nice family photo. They all look happy which is cool in this day and age of dysfunction and wrongness. You probably know what he sounds like by now so there's not much me saying this but he's a right ole cheeky scamp. He sounds like he'd put drawing pins on your chair before you'd sit down, he'd knock on your door & run off before you answered it and he'd make prank phone calls pretending you'd won a million quid. He's that cheeky and it comes across in the music. As infinitely British as Badly Drawn Boy is (but in a different way) this is a right old catchy cheek-a-thon ready to get you doing pranks all over the place and smiling in a cheeky (guilt free) way afterwards. If you got the money is out on 2 x 7" and CD..The release of his ‘Betty And The Selfish Sons EP’ in March on his own Pacemaker Records, plus the series of Panic Prevention mixtapes he gave out at gigs, saw an explosion of interest in Jamie. Radio One in particular became massive supporters, with Zane Lowe making ‘Salvador’ his single of the week and ‘Back In The Game’ his Hottest Record In The World. His last single ‘Sheila’ was Jo Whiley’s Pet Sound, B-listed at Radio One and reached no.22 in the charts.
His new single ‘If You Got The Money’ is a quintessential Jamie T banger, fusing screechy punk rock guitars, flowing vocals and a touch of the Beastie Boys schoolyard humour into a tight three minute pop song. It was added to the Radio One playlist six weeks upfront, and has been Jo Whiley’s Pet Sound and Zane Lowe’s Single Of The Week. It will be available on CD, gatefold 7" and 7" PVC sleeve with poster. The gatefold 7” includes a cover version of Billy Bragg’s ‘A New England’, a massive live favourite in Jamie’s set.
