Duke Special - Last Night I Nearly Died

Last Night I Nearly Died by Duke Special

2...according to our on Tue 14 Nov, 2006.

Is DUKE SPECIAL here just to annoy me? It's like the worst parts of the Seventies.Sincer crooning stumbling around a Jeff Lynne induced blandmare. Think Elton John/Badly Dawn Boy tedium. It's great if you like classic piano man easy listening & dance hall nostalgia but this makes Divine Comedy sound like Deicide. I don't care a damn whether it's "great" or he's influenced by the likes of Tom Waits or The Blue Nile. He looks like an escape from Gaye Bykers on Acid (designer trustafarian with eyeliner) cue yer gran - "Oooooohhh doesn't he look funny?" Worse, he sounds like your mums record collection left in the charity shop circa 1978. He must be stopped please. You'll all be buying Jamie Cullum or the next shameless plunderer of the past masquerading as "the future" next. Gaaaaah! 7"/78rpm 10"/CD.
