Further playful lady fronted eccentricity, this time from IMITATION ELECTRIC PIANO who reside in the part of town near to where Psapp & Broadcast live but seem to have immersed themselves in a more psych prog fog, less toytown or krautrock John Barry waltz, but possibly a disco Fairport Convention. This is a hugely great thing BTW. 'They could possibly be a little miffed about something too with the title of this CD reading 'Blow it up, Burn it down, Kick it till it bleeds' I'm sure Sandy Denny wouldn't approve of such aggression. Never mind cause this is a purring cat, not a vicious rottweiler coming to maim your family (hello hysterical media, how are you?) An album of cool songs that veer from Quickspace meets Gong quirkiness to metronomic Stereolab/Snowpony indie pop. Not very much awkward jazz these days, if at all. Nice to see albums coming through that we can sell for around the eight quid mark. That's how much a flipping CD should be I reckon! Quality gear!
