Squarepusher - Hello Everything

Ant here with the new Pear Squasher album.... Ahem I mean SQUAREPUSHER with his latest work, the eagerly awaited 'Hello Everything' longplayer. You're usually gonna get some good rockin' tracks on a pusher album, it's normally just a question of whether or not you have to wade through his jazzy noodling bits to get to them. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind some of of his less noodly jazz cuts but its the full on cut 'n' paste amen breaks and acid tracks that get me off. Thankfully this album has a nice balance of the two, with some top notch tunes such as ' Planetarium' which has trademark Squarepusher melodies. Also 'Rotate Electrolyte' is great, as is the acid tinged 'Welcome To Europe' which could have easily come from the seminal 'Feed Me Weird Things' record on Rephlex. Amazingly on the sleeve notes it says 'Everything by Tom Jenkinson' Blimey!!!! His hands must have been killing him after shrinkwrapping thousands of records and CD's and he's even managed to take photos of himself on the sleeve playing all his instruments. Further proof that this guy is somewhat a genius. The CD comes in Ltd biodegradable packaging (like you're gonna chuck it on the street?) and initial copies of the Triple LP and CD are a special limited edition that include a bonus 3" CD. Recommended, on Warp of course.
