Another one worthy of your attention this week is the bargain priced 'Another Generic Label Sampler Vol. 1000,000' on the Concrete Plastic label. The compilation kicks off with a track from THE OTHER COLLECTORS who appear to have changed their guise with the addition of the word 'other' (possibly because I got them confused with another artist of the same name on these vary pages). Anyway the track is a funked up acid tinged cut with rolling drums and subtle atmospherics... Dr of Astrophysics IAN HEYWOOD has been cold rockin' parties with his live shows under his DOMESTICATION OF THE DOG pseudonym alongside the likes of Jega and the Skam posse. His cut 'Tim8' is a deep, late night, brooding, dark and futuristic piece of sound design with distant vocal samples, spaced out effects and sparse, hypnotic electro percussion. Pure sonic astronomy. You get 10 quality tracks in all from established and unknown artists like POSTHUMAN (who are on form) and YELLOTONE who mix piano, acoustic guitar and electronics beautifully. Also featured are PRAVEEN, ROOTSIX, ULTRE, ROSNER and 214 who provides a nice crunchy electro tune with lush melodies. Packaged in a sexy hand stickered jewel case and limited to only 500 copies.
