What we say

Rating: unmoved This record left our Phil feeling unmoved.

Hot Chip have hot chipped it over from Virgin (did you know that they fund organisations that eat babies in poor countries???) funded Moshi Moshi to EMI and the first thing I noticed about this is when I opened up the CD to play it there's a big inlay about getting official Hot Chip ringtones on your mobile. I fucking hate ringtones..... I've never liked Hot Chip at all and this adds to my general dislike of 'em. It's not bad at all it's just not my bag. It's like a bad DFA record or something (and there's plenty of them around...). Am sure this is approximately as bad as their previous releases. When I was young I was put in a bin while funny (and very clever) people kicked and rolled it around for far too long. I want to be back in that bin.... on orange 7"/12" and CD...

What the label says:

1. Over And Over
2. Family In Here
3. Over And Over (Justus Kohnicke"s Baking Horse Club Mix)
4. Over And Over (Video)

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
