Rating: unmoved This record left our Brian feeling unmoved.

Another "buzz" band (gaaaaah!) are Kubichek. The singer sounds like a more spiky Tim Booth fronting another bunch of new wave chancers, these with a distinct post-emo edge. They've got a sort of Hell Is For Heroes meets Bloc Party thang happening that at first leaves me a bit cold but soon draws me in on repeated listen. Quite paranoid & angular, energetic, chaotic & shouty with a healthy dose of naïveté & wonkiness. That's the flip, 'Stutter' I've just reviewed by the way 'cos A/ 'Nightjoy' is so derivative of everything that's happening right now it makes absolutely no impact on me & B. We'll have sold out by the time most of you get to this review. Ltd 7" on Fantastic Plastic.
