Got a single by Barr (who had stuff out on Upset The Rhythm) entitled 'The Song Is The Single' immediately I'm told it is a bit like Jad Fair... It's really stripped down with a wobbly bassline carrying the tune alone and a simple beat leaving plenty of space for the vocal. There are some funny lyrics and his voice is the most American sounding accent I've ever heard. Barr is the work of Brendan Fowler. A cool little single.Brendan Fowler makes beautiful songs and angry songs. He is a public speaker or a talking person and an artist making sounds.
Barr is one person, Brendan Fowler, or at least right now it is one person. The beautiful thing about it is that it can become 20 people and it would still make sense as Barr.
Barr has toured with Animal Collective, Wives, Tracy And The Plastics, Hawney Troof and Erase Errata among others. On top of all that Brendan Fowler as a person is a really nice guy.
