A Norman Records recommendation (15th November 2006)

This record left our Ant feeling ecstatic.

PSAPP have gone and released 'Hi' as a single which was one of the highlights of the 'The Only Thing I Ever Wanted' long player. It's utterly infectious with its super catchy melodies and quirky percussion. It's difficult to pinpoint the vibe of this track, it has almost a latin or calypso feel to it and the Marimba is great. Phil reckons it sounds like a cross between Tom Waits and Pram. I think the toytown childlike feel is almost like what Plaid would do if you gave them a glockenspiel. This is a million miles from the type of stuff I normally listen to but I just cannot resist the charms of this limited 7". B-side 'Apple block' is what Stereolab might sound like had they not gone all Jazz. This is perfect pop music and comes in an ace little printed PVC sleeve. Single of the week, on Domino
