So much good music this week it's almost overwhelming. GHISLAIN POIRIER's Break Up Down' is a mighty fine hip-hop album if ever I heard one. The production on here is top drawer, the beats are solid and what I like about this guys stuff is that he doesn't fuck about too much with techno trickery, he retains the groove and yet it never gets boring. There's enough going on to keep the tracks evolving and keep the listener interested. You get futuristic instrumentals and cuts with MC's and even a ragga vibe on 'Mic Diplomat'. On Chocolate Industries so you're assured of it's dopeness. A damn fine album that experiments with electronics that is both cutting edge and accessible.Be the first to review this record.
