The new Kode 9 & Space Ape 10" is like a dubstep remix of mid period Red Snapper ala the stunning 'Prince Blimey' LP but on a slight mogadon vibe. The Ape's vocal fascinate me, so sinister yet colourful, his vowels curling & twisting around the slowly skanking slice of cymbal led future dub. That's 'Backward' that is. The flipper, '9 Samurai' possesses distinct similarities to the dark, morphing opus 'Kingstown' yet is out there on It's own. His dark, downtempo vision of the future for this most tribal of head music is second to none. Alongside the DMZ posse & Skream, these guys can do no wrong in my book!
