Windmill
Racing/ Tokyo Moon

This record left our Phil feeling happy.
Woohoo! Static Caravan action. A new single in by WINDMILL which I believe is their debut. If I paid more attention I'm sure I'd be more informative. This red vinyl 7" wonder is quite 'Flaming Lipsy Wayne Coyne' style pop music. It's quirky pop alright. It's got the wonky voice style of Wayne Coyne and musically it's like one of the more serious Flaming Lips tunes. That's about as much as I can think of that one. I struggled with this review...

What their label says...
Windmill is the recording name of 26-year old Matthew Thomas Dillon. Born and raised in Newport Pagnell, Bucks, now residing in Bedfordshire, this home counties boy makes music that stands up against the greats of American indie, with echoes of Built To Spill, Modest Mouse and Mercury Rev pervading his classic, piano-led songcraft. Windmills debut release Racing/Tokyo Moon is both beautiful and broken, sung in a tortured hue thats somewhere between Wayne Coyne and Neil Young but, at the same time, all his own.
