Finally an album Brian has been raving about. Yes the new WALKMEN album is here. Apparently he got a bit upset when Phil told him the singer sounds like Rod Stewart... I'm not going to be able to listen to this now without thinking of the silver tongued scottish cradle snatcher. Thankfully beneath all the gritty crooning the music is a well produced and powerful blend of guitar pop, drinking songs and sleazy night time music. Crikey now he sounds like Bob Dylan. For some reason I can imagine a load of pissed up Irish folk getting wasted and singing along spilling their pints of Guinness. 'A Hundred Miles Off' is out on Record Collection.
