Yet another bunch of off-kilter weirdos with their debut album to push is THE MULES with 'Save your Face' on Organ Grinder. They're crackers this group, they really are. A cut above all the chaff with obvious compadres being the Mystery Jets & all the quirky spazzed out Eel Pie Island lot. Scratchy ska flecked skiffle punk with bizarre cabaret touches & a kinda backwoods outsider feel. I can't actually fathom remotely what planet they're on but I'd really like to go visit there. Truly a bunch of lads with the magic, you'll probably not quite realise what the hell you've let yourself in for with this tremendously shitfaced mess of an album but you'll want to go on a colossal knees up round town after absorbing its itchy circus freak new wave vaudeville genius.
