Geordie label Distraction Records treat our earbuds to another tasty 7" from the mighty fine D_RRADIO and what a pretty little thing it is too. 'You Hold My Breath' is a decent enough track but it's the B-side that really pricks my ears up and grabs me. 'Out Of Love' really is very charming with its sweet heartwarming melodies in the vein of Isan fused with the playful childlike melodies of Plone. A perfect example of how electronic music can be beautiful. If you're unfamiliar with the work of D_rradio then you really ought to check them out, they've previously recorded for Static Caravan and this is the third 7" in the series of 3. Quality gear indeed.

About the humble 7":

The humble 7" is the smallest of the vinyl formats (not including the ridiculous 5") and it's the perfect medium for transporting a couple of new songs by up and coming bands straight into your ears. They're fun and they take up less space in your house than something bigger would. They come in a plethora of exciting colours and fantastical packages, and you can fit about 14 minutes onto one 7". You may have to get up every few minutes to put a new record on but think of the exercise. Don't forget every record you buy plays at least 2 speeds (depending on your stereo) and you need to play all records on all speeds to get the maximum joy from your purchase.
