The conversation at the towers has gone from music to double glazing. Never a dull moment here you know. That could all change though as I've just stuck on the new limited 2CD edition of 'Damaged' the new album from Lambchop (also on LP too!) . These guys are reasonably competent at blending alt country, gospel and soul into a sound that doesn't exactly sound like either. It's very gentle, tender heartfelt stuff with soulful piano. Phil says this is proper grown up music and it's a lot like the Tindersticks with bits of Leonard Cohen in there. I'm lucky I've got team Norman at hand to help me out as I'm a little hungover from being with the lads last night at Brians' darling girlfriend's place where she cooked us the most amazing risotto. I wish my girlfriend could make a risotto like that. I'd never leave the house. Anyway this comes with 4 exclusive bonus tracks and lives in a lovely little gatefold digipak. I've just read the sleeve notes and there are like 18 different musicians on here. Blimey, by the time they split any profits from this release they'll barely have enough dollar for a chip butty.
