Now I have the new single from Texas dudes MIDLAKE on Bella Union (owned by former bassist of Cocteau Twins!). It's a melodic and pretty song with well worked harmonies but something sticks in the throat. Its a bit too well worked and its become MID...dle of the road... LAKE (see what i did there?) Brian says Chris Rea. (for a laugh...) Like an unexperimental Granddaddy. 2nd song is quite a pretty piano and voice job and the final song is a Radioheady chord changes and melody done in plodding way. It's tight, professional and inoffensive but sometime the flies round the shit are the most exciting bit where risks are taken and you can fall on your arse or discover a diamond.Be the first to review this record.
