Rating: happy This record left our Brian feeling happy.

SEAFOOD have turned into a Snow Patrol you'll be delighted to learn. Once practitioners of machine gun shambolic indie pop (much like Snow Patrol!), they're now going for the smooth anthemic radio pop ticket ('Signal Sparks' has hints of U2 even) whilst retaining a modicum of credibility, thank god. Thing is, they always wrote good tunes & still do but I dunno if Cooking Vinyl would be able to shoehorn 'em into the charts. They haven't lost that tight, noisy edge completely though. 'Bad Flag' (surely AWOL from the second album?) is all whirling, caterwauling guitar & solid pacey drums with their unmistakable knack for making music that constantly races towards an uplifting crecendo still most evident. Forgot what a good vocalist the singer dude was too. Nice to have 'em back, for this is indie pop shorn of fad, pretence & hype.
