Following the Amen Andrews v Spac Hand Luke face-off from the other week Luke Vibert returns under his Kerrier District moniker for an EP simply entitled 'Kerrier District 2.' This is a 6 track CD of funk-tasticelectronic neo disco which is also split over two slabs of vinyl. The first cut is the one for me which sounds like a cross between an italo disco record but with the modern electronic funk of say Jake Slazenger. 'Robotuss' sounds like Drexciya doing disco with its sinister electro vibe. Its not really looking forward this, rather it's a homage to the past and a big nod to the disco sound that inspired a lot of the electronic producers of toady. If you liked the first Kerrier District LP then you're probably gonna like this and if you're an IDM kid don't let the term Disco put you off as there is plenty of machine robo funk to keep you interested. No doubt you'll probably all buy it for the smart Ceephax Acid Crew mix though. On Rephlex, home of Braindance.Be the first to review this record.
