Lookout....Mashit's DJ C makes an appearance on Death$ucker. 'Ransom The Senator' has a heavy slow dub vibe with more uptempo percussion which actually works a treat & the vocal by Zulu is a good one. Its an interesting mix this one and a slight departure from the faster mash-up styles that this label usually produce. An obvious comparison would be the more down tempo tracks by The Bug but not anywhere near as heavy or devastatingly distorted and crushing. The Flip 'Nuttin Attall' switches from the head-nodding stoned vibe to a grittier dancefloor track with jungle beats. I was quite into this style a few years ago when lots of the ideas were fresh, but I'm a little disillusioned with it recently as labels still seem to be churning it out without any new ideas. Sure don't fix was isn't broken but unless you're a DJ you only need so many of these records. It just sounds to me like a watered down take on a genre that was at one point exciting.Be the first to review this record. Best reviewer each month gets £10 off their next order!
