Gerald Wenzel - Prairie Program

Prairie Program by Gerald Wenzel

Gerald Wenzel issues his second full length LP on PHTHALO with a noteworthy epic collection of true contemporary computer composition and synthesis. The album was made over a period of 2 years entirely synthesized and composed in Csound in the orthodox "list" form of programing. The tunes range from the tidy clean and discrete shakers and 808 booms, to post house music workups with chopped and processed female voices, to bowed acoustic guitar drone processes, and to hyperdistorted smashed compression bombastic and exploding war-like metal percussion. Easily more developed and showing much more innovation than some recent releases out of the U.K. showing similar DSP + finicky composition and slamming beats. Might end up being one of the best albums of 2000.
