Transgressive conclude an industrious 12 months with the 2nd single by Burningpilot. All I can think is 'Two Words Two Syllables' is reminiscent of a ska-d up Squeeze skanking away after a session of mushroom tea with Gruff Rhys. The vocals have that slurry wobblesome lilt that remains a staple of SFA's stellar pop but there the similarity ends. There's mainly a huge dose of The Stranglers pumping through the joint brandishing a cheap swirling keyboard no doubt played with relish by some dude dressed in full paedo-chic. The flip is yet more Stranglers-esque itchy new wave pop with a nod to Mark E Smith but inevitably it ends up sounding like a robotic Rakes clone which is probably no bad thing if you're into all this dolly the sheep business. "Where will it end?" cried Ian Curtis once....Be the first to review this record. Best reviewer each month gets £10 off their next order!
