I've just realised I'm a Belle and Sebastian fan. Its only taken 10 years or so. I have a history of this kind of thing - getting into bands way, way after the event. Anyway the reason I mention them is because of this new CD by The Charade. This is really nice Swedish pop. The influences are obvious - Belle and Sebastian, Camera Obscura, Club 8, Saint Etienne, Sarah Records, C86, lollipops. But the songs here are really really strong - you'll be humming them for days. It does take a lot for a 32 year old man to want to crack open his old anorak and go skipping through a flowery field but this CD almost does it.
