Beef - Showers of Sunshine

Showers of Sunshine by Beef

4...according to our on Sun 19 Nov, 2006.

The man once responsible for the label Sparticus Shoegazer, otherwise also known as DJ Ordeal, has his label's swansong release out & as expected, it's a bizarre slab of wax. Hiding behind the Beef moniker, this is acapella songs, amateur style, by a man who's actually got a much better voice than he let us believe. We still stocked this 10" album of old crumbly covers (there's even a Bruce Forsyth song on here) & a couple of his own. Ant says this is "like his dad singing in the bath" If Ant's dad can sing like this, I'd pay to see him down that Holyhead working man's club he dreams so often about gracing the stage of. A truly affecting & sweetly fascinating record (from a complete weirdo, obviously!!!)
