Back to the whole folky thing now... Charalambides are one of these folk type supergroups these days as the movement has got bigger and more popular, there's much more interest in the work of Tom & Christina Carter. So they have a brand new proper album out on Kranky called A Vintage Burden which starts off all gentle and lovely and is thoroughly enjoyable. It says in the blurb here that is sounds like collaboration between Six Organs of Admittance and Joanna Newsom..... I hate using these press sheet things cos they're normally full of lies to get you to buy records. This one is pretty apt though and it's all good aside from the huge masturbatory guitar solos later on which made me want to hit things.Be the first to review this record.
