I do like this 7" by Hotplate called The Hotplate EP. This is the 2nd release from the World In Winter label after the Pedro related Angela Valid split 7" (which we still have a handful of left!). If you're into John Fahey, Jack Rose and other such guitarists who play their trusty stringed instruments with vigor then you'll love this. The a side is a slide guitar monster which reminds me a bit of Ry Cooder from the Paris Texas soundtrack. The flipside is more twangy (I must really sound like I know what I'm on about) and less slidey but still a monster. Probably my single of the week if I could remember what else I had reviewed already!Be the first to review this record. Best reviewer each month gets £10 off their next order!
