The Young Knives had their supposed debut 10" out on Transgressive. But what's this 7 track CD on Shifty Disco from 2002?? Entitled '....are Dead', the seeds are already clearly sown for a triumphant angular 3 piece from the village of off kilter, Nr. the shire of Quirk. Yep, this is the kind of precocious indie that used to give me shivers up the spine for years. The vocals are a bit rough-arse but the dynamics in the music sound so natural, the production cheap but full, the trad C86/post punk melting pot not quite as in evidence but all the tunes are really strong & vital, dare I say accomplished? I proper like this band loads & if you dug that recent 10" then you must purchase this excellent mini album & support the House Of Lords & Co on their conquest to return the coveted indie crown to less manufactured pastures.Be the first to review this record.
