Now the electronic scene has been pissing me right off for ages. All I seem to be buzzing off at the moment is the more ambient & analogue techno from the early 90's & some dubstep. I'm glad lil' Ant is here to be thoroughly constructive & objective about a lot of the stuff coming through as I'm feeling a tad jaded. Absolutely dig this new Dat Politics album however. On Chicks On Speed recs, it's screechy, full on gabber electro pop with loads going on, tons of spirit, energy & psychotic pop elements. Distorted vocals hover over a fleshed out post gameboy pogo frenzy, The songs on here are insistent & divine slabs of hyper-quirky disco insanity containing filthy synths & squelchy out-there sounds filling a void in yer head. The vocals sound like Numbers on helium. Where the likes of Crossover err toward the dark side, these, whilst still on an equally inventive pop trip, appear to be choking on happy pills. Get this giddy, hugely enjoyable album to soundtrack yer pinky & perky on acid fantasies. Record of the week, hands down.Be the first to review this record.
